New Delhi: Zee Group Chairman Subhash Chandra and his son Punit Goenka, the managing director of the company, were on 8th Dec. questioned by the Delhi Police’s Crime Branch in connection with the alleged Rs. 100 crore extortion bid from Congress MP Naveen Jindal’s firm by two editors of Zee News.
Mr Chandra came to Crime Branch office in Chanakyapuri along with lawyers where he was questioned. The police had served the notice to him on 3rd Dec.
A Delhi court on 6th Dec. granted anticipatory bail to Mr Chandra and his son till December 14. Two Editors of Zee News, Mr. Sudhir Chaudhury and Mr. Samir Ahluwalia, are alleged to have tried to extort huge money from Jindal’s company. Both have already been arrested and are currently in Tihar Jail.
