Modi has shed all pretenses about his core character and vileness. The recent extremely offensive statements made by him against the Muslims for political gain has shocked the conscience of vast sections of the population including Hindus. The vileness stems not merely from the ideology he eschews, but the man’s character itself.
This is a man with visible inborn and multiple character flaws that bloomed in the darkness of RSS shakhas where hatred, anarchy and violence against all who stand in their way, as well as falsehood and lying are indoctrinated into young minds. The end result depends on the soil these seeds of evil find.
Modi with his inborn character flaws of deceit, barbarism and criminality coupled with lack of education provided the most fertile one and what we now have is the embodiment of Evil itself. This is the most wicked bigot and sociopath to have walked this land in recent memory.
What triggered his recent vulgarity, however, is not merely his character. Rather, it is fear driven by his character. What we are seeing is a scared, stunned and immobilized rabbit hit by a hunter’s powerful spotlight which, in this case is the electorate and the India Alliance (IA).
Phase 1 has gone badly for BJP and the momentum against it is expected to build and evict him. The man has committed or patronized so much crime since his days as Gujarat CM and now as PM; crimes ranging from genocide and extensive rape of the law to large-scale loot of national wealth, that he knows if he is out of power the axe will mercilessly fall on him and on those who propped him. IA has said it in so.many words. Just today a petition has been filed in the SC for a SIT into the EB scam which leads right to his doorstep.
Modi’s fears are further compounded by three factors, starting with the political climate in the country. As is the mind-set of all megalomaniacs, Modi actually believed that the lies constructed about him, his competency, his accomplishments would thrive perennially and keep getting him elected in spite of his excesses and running the country into the ground.
But BJP’s own internal reports of Phase 1 polling having badly gone against it, along with the prior extensive debate in the country over his promises Vs delivery and the successful resoluteness of the IA to evict him seen in the trends in Phase 1 polling, has literally stripped the man of any confidence in hopes of returning to absolute power without which no dictator can function. He played for all or nothing and that is what he now finds himself facing – nothing.
The second factor is the RSS cutting him down to size and unable to do anything to salvage the BJP from heavy losses. One day after polling in Phase 1, after 10 years the man went to the RSS for help to save the elections, literally begging them as revealed in a video I had posted earlier. He was told that he himself had screwed up big time, while the RSS felt completely sidelined by the very person whom it enormously helped put in the PM’s chair. The conflict between two fascist entities has never been sharper.
Worse, there is very little the RSS can do for him anyway. RSS says it took a neutral stand due to his megalomaniac conduct but the fact is the RSS does not operate like a special operation force. Instead, it operates by indulging in sustained long-term whisper campaigns, communal propaganda and creating situations that gradually lead to communal passions and riots that polarize voters.
Fact is, even the RSS’ efforts have long peaked and its standing is on the decline as revealed by the increasing opposition to Modi and RSS from Hindus themselves, including Shankaracharyas who command enormous religious respect which BJP-RSS has tried to usurp by positing itself as the guardian of Hinduism. With winds blowing against them, instigating violence in the middle of elections is counter-productive for both the BJP and the RSS too.
Moreover, under Modi’s rampage, RSS cadres have substantially merged with the BJP and the dividing lines between them has long blurred. That’s why a friend of mine had once commented, “He’s got the RSS by the balls.”
What the BJP-RSS can do together is already being done and it is not enough. In other words, the over-rated RSS cannot do anything for him anymore even if it wanted to.
This in turn telescopes into the third factor responsible for his fear: Humiliation. Egged on by pernicious and corrupt sycophants surrounding him, Modi grew to believe that he is the be-all of India – I am India, India is me. That’s where all his vain statements like ‘Lal Ankhe’. ‘Ghar Me Ghus Ke Marenge’ and ‘Mai Akela Bhari’ emanate from.
Additionally, all sorts of bigots including the Godi media hoisted him onto a pedestal that is reserved for the kinds of Gandhi, Nehru and other genuine stalwarts.
But despite the Godi media’s best efforts, all illusions about Modi have been torn down, definitively starting with the Hindenburg report and culminating in the EB scam, even as the IA is running a very well-calculated and well thought out election Campaign.
The message of a threat to the Constitution has hit home with those who can hurt him most politically – minorities (19.5%), Dalits and Tribals and (17%) Adivasis (8.6%), and also among others enjoying benefits under the present Constitution. The first three are reported to have En Bloc voted against BJP in phase 1 and are slated to do the same in remaining phases.
Nothing humiliates a person more than being dislodged from a pedestal that he thought was permanent. More importantly, when people have no meaning to their life other than pursuing fascism and self-aggrandizement, the humiliation that ensues after someone like Modi is evicted from power reduces him to an utterly disgraced non-entity. That is what he is headed for and it terrifies him and he will do whatever he can to avoid it, albeit fruitlessly.
We will, therefore, probably witness more savage behavior from him but we don’t need to respond in kind. The writing on the wall is clear and phase 2 will confirm it. All we have to do without failing is to ensure that we take others along with us and vote against BJP. That’s all the response his vulgarity needs when the ground has already slipped from underneath the BJP.
Further, it is to the Muslim community’s credit that they have been circumspect and self-controlled in responding to the excesses of Modi and his regime year after year. The latest barrage of invective from Modi has a political cost that will be most visible from Maharashtra downwards till the Southern tip where Modi and his rhetoric have never got much traction.
This region has 181 seats out of which BJP will lose a lion’s share of the seats it held in Maharashtra and Karnataka, having little else in the South. These two states along with Telangana will bring the BJP well below the 240 mark. The rest of the states will complete the job.
