On Saturday, the People Democratic Party (PDP) chief, Mehbooba Mufti, took to the streets of Srinagar to lead a protest condemning Israel’s aggression on Gaza. In a demonstration, Mufti voiced her concerns about the escalating attacks on the Gaza Strip, demanding immediate action.
Mehbooba Mufti, the former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, strongly criticized Israel’s actions, warning of severe consequences for the people of Gaza. She appealed to world powers to put pressure on Israel to establish a ceasefire, citing the dire situation in Palestine.
“We appeal to the world powers to put pressure on Israel and conduct a ceasefire. Palestine is facing oppression. There is no food, medicines, or necessities there. People are being shot at, and bombs are being thrown at them. Israel is doing to Palestinians what happened to the Jews during the Holocaust. The consequences will be very serious in the future. If nothing is done about this, then more people will pick up guns and spread terror in the world,” Mufti said.

This protest follows Mufti’s recent condemnation of the bombing of a hospital in Gaza, which resulted in the tragic loss of approximately 500 lives. She continues to call on world powers to intervene and bring about a ceasefire in the region.
Mehbooba Mufti also stressed that it is high time for a resolution to the longstanding conflict in Palestine.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Gaza has reached devastating proportions, marking the deadliest of the five Gaza wars. The Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry reported that 4,137 Palestinians have been killed, with more than 13,000 others wounded. In Israel, over 1,400 people have been killed, mostly during the initial attack when Hamas militants breached Israeli borders. Additionally, 203 individuals were believed to have been captured by Hamas during the incursion and taken into Gaza, according to the Israeli military.
