The Punjab University has decided to change the content of M.A political science syllabus, which mentions Sikh leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale as a terrorist and has launched a probe into the same.

This comes after Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) raised an objection to the controversial language used about Bhindranwale.

“I came to know about the objectionable content. We will remove it and launch a probe into how it became part of the syllabus,” Satnam Singh Sandhu, head of Distance Education Department of Punjabi University, Patiala told The Indian Express.

The controversial reference to Bhindranwale is a part of M.A in political science (distance mode).

The university has formed a three-member committee to probe the same. The committee is led by Dr Dr Satnam Singh Sandhu.
