New Delhi: Campus Front of India (CFI) national general secretary Rauf Shareef, who was arrested in the Hathras conspiracy case, has tested positive for Covid-19. He has isolated in Mathura jail.
His brother Salman Shareef has raised his strong concern over lack of basic amenities in the jail. ”There are no proper food and treatment in jail. His health condition is not well now,” Shareef said while speaking to Maktoob Media.
Shareef is in Mathura jail now along with other Muslim youths under draconian UAPA charges in Hathras conspiracy case.
He was earlier arrested by ED under sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in December 2020 and got bail in the case after two months.
Journalist Siddique Kappan, who was also lodged in the same jail, has been shifted to Mathura Medical College after he tested positive for Covid-19. His family has alleged that he is tied to a bed like an animal in the hospital and is being denied access to toilet.
