New Delhi: At a time when Islamophobia hit its crescendo in India, two Muslim sibling have set a shining example of philanthropy by donating their saving Rs 60,000 to the PM CARES FUNDS to fight the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.
These kind-hearted young sibling philanthropists are Suha Khan and Suhail Khan both are the students of Class-10th in Springdales Dhaula Kauna and DPS R K Puram Delhi respectively.
The proud father of these kids is Badruddin Khan, who is presently Private Secretary to Governor of Manipur and also Honorary Secretary of the India Islamic Cultural Centre, (IICC)/
Speaking to Muslim Mirror, Khan said his son and daughter have contributed this money from their savings to PM Care Fund as they want to mitigate the sufferings of poor people who have been hit due to lockdown on account of COVID-19 Pandemic.
“I would request all citizens to contribute in PM Care Fund according to their capacities to win the battle against coronavirus . Please do not think how big or small is the contribution, your participation is important at this crucial juncture”, he said.
“May Almighty bless us and our country” added Khan.
This gesture of Khan’s offspring in these dark times is a huge slap on the face of the communal forces and their supportive media who have gone overdrive to demonize the Muslim after the Markaz Nizamuddin episode surfaced.
Instead of strengthening the fight against deadly virus, the media started campaign to lay the blame of coronavrius spread at the doors of the Muslim community with the alleged connivance of establishment. Despite such depressing atmosphere, Muslims have been playing their part in this battle against the pandemic. In this connection, Suha and Suhail’s charity is a shining example for the whole country. These students’ contribution is important because it may encourage civil society at large to come forward and help the government at this difficult time.
