In a public rally held in Barmer district, Rajasthan, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat made headlines with his strong remarks against those critical of Sanatan Dharma. The remarks, which included threats of violence against dissenters, came in response to comments made by Tamil Nadu Youth Welfare Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin regarding Sanatan Dharma.

Addressing the gathering during the BJP’s Parivartan Yatra in the poll-bound state, Shekhawat responded to Udhayanidhi Stalin’s earlier statements by saying, “We have to stand up to the challenge. We will pull out the tongue of anyone who speaks against Sanatan. We will also gouge out those eyes raised against Sanatan.”

“We challenge that no person who speaks against Sanatan will be able to maintain political position and power in this country. They try to attack our culture and history,” he said.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, had previously alleged that Sanatan Dharma was against equality and social justice, even likening it to diseases such as coronavirus, malaria, and dengue fever.

During the rally, Shekhawat also commented on the political landscape, stating that the opposition INDIA alliance was comprised of individuals involved in various scams, including the fodder scam. He claimed that the primary objective of opposition parties was to defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

Shekhawat quoted Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who suggested that if Modi were to win, Sanatan would become more powerful, and therefore, there was a need to defeat him. He also made reference to historical figures, including Maharaja Surajmal, Veer Durgadas, and Maharana Pratap, emphasizing their role in protecting Indian culture throughout history.

“Rulers like Alauddin Khilji and Aurangzeb tried but ancestors of yours and mine were capable and protect the culture. We swear by all those ancestors, whether it is Maharaja Surajmal, Veer Durgadas or Maharana Pratap, that we will not tolerate those who attack Sanatan. We will throw them away,” the Union jal shakti minister said.
