New Delhi: 759 candidates, with 577 men and 182 women, have been recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Services and Indian Police Services, according to a press release issued by the UPSC.
The written part of the Civil Services Examination was held by UPSC in September-October and interviews for the Personality Test were held in February-March, 2019, according to news agency ANI.
Out of 759 successful candidates 30 Muslims have made it to this year’s result with Junaid Ahmad bagging the 3rd rank.
Junaid hails from Nagina in Bijnor district of UP. He was a fellow of Residential Coaching Academy, JMI. Junaid got financial help from Zakat Foundation of India.
Out of 30 successful candidates 18 are the fellows of Zakat Foundation of India.
The selected UPSC candidates are recommended for various government posts which include Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and several other services.
52 Muslims had cleared the exams in 2018. In 2017, 51 in 2016, 36, in 2015. 38 , in 2014, 34 and in 2013 , 30 Muslims were in the list of successful candidates.
