New Delhi : In a new twist to 2007 Mecca Masjid blast case, court officials on Wednesday traced the key document related to accused Swami Aseemanand. The document was produced before the sessions judge cum special court for NIA cases.
On Tuesday, K Ravinder Reddy, the fourth Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge cum special court for NIA cases, came down heavily on court officials after several documents pertaining to the case couldn’t be traced. The proceedings of the case had to be stalled by more than one and half hours before officials could trace some of the documents that were exhibited before the court.
However on Wednesday, the court staff traced the document and produced it before the judge.
It is pertinent to mention that on May 18, 2007, a bomb blast inside the Mecca Masjid during Friday prayers killed nine people and injured 58 others. Later, more people were killed when the police opened fire on protesters. Several RSS members were questioned by the court in the case.
