New Delhi: Congress on Monday attacked the Government of India for the killing of four army personnel including one officer at the LoC, alleging that India’s defence policy has been confined only to the speeches of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reacting to the incident of shelling by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Sunday, Congress spokesperson Parmood Tiwari said there were 500 times increased in the incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan in last 44 months since the Modi government came to power.
Addressing the reporters here, he said in the last year alone 160 incidents of ceasefire violation by Pakistan and China have been recorded while overall 2,474 incidents have been recorded in the last 44 months since this government assumed the power at the Center.
Drawing a parallel between the previous UPA government and the present BJP-led NDA government, Tiwari said it is a whopping increase of 500 times and till date, 340 army personnel and 194 civilians have been killed in this government while 10,000 people have been fled from the border areas for want of security. A state of terror is prevailing in the border areas while as many as 84 schools have been closed down by the authorities, he said.
Attacking the PM, the Congress leader said he did not take any concrete action against those violations.
