New Delhi: BJP MP party’s youth wing president Tejasvi Surya is purportedly hurt by suspension of US President Donald Trump’s Twitter account. In his recent tweet, he said that this was “wake up call for all who don’t yet understand the threat to our democracies by unregulated big tech companies”.
This must be wake up call for all who don’t yet understand threat to our democracies by unregulated big tech companies.
If they can do this to POTUS, they can do this to anyone.
Sooner India reviews intermediaries regulations, better for our democracy.@GoI_MeitY https://t.co/SWzaBfycJ8

Twitter on Saturday suspended Trump’s account in the wake of the violent attack carried out by his supporters on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. Twitter took the measure due to “the risk of further incitement of violence.”
Surya described the development as anti-democratic. However, a close reading of his speeches and remarks makes it clear that he has been posing a threat to Indian democracy.
During a speech in March 2019, he had said, “If you are with Modi you are with India. If you are not with Modi, you are with anti-India forces”.
Opposition and criticism are a vital part of democracy. However, Surya is against any kind of opposition to Modi.
Earlier, Surya had made headlines for his derogatory tweet on Arab women. The tweet had attracted criticism from across the world.
@PMOIndia Respected Prime minister @narendramodi India's relation with the Arab world has been that of mutual respect. Do you allow your parliamentarian to publicly humiliate our women? We expect your urgent punitive action against @Tejasvi_Surya for his disgraceful comment. pic.twitter.com/emymJrc5aU

Ironically, Surya’s BJP party or even PM Modi never condemned his tweet.
