New Delhi: Urdu media has reacted to Narendra Modi’s victory with sobriety and caution that led to the BJP on the shores of government formation on its own.
‘The question is not about Modi, the question is about the RSS’ expressing his concern over the historical victory of Modi , wrote Qasim Syed the prominent journalist and the editor of Roznama Kahbrein in his editorial . It shouldn’t be overlooked that the RSS played a very significant role for the success of Modi, from media management to the polling booths and how Modi will repay this immense debt to RSS remains to be seen cautions Syed.
While writing in Inquilab Urdu daily, Shakil Hasan Shamsi opined that the credit to BJP’s astounding performance in 2014 poll goes to anti-incumbency tsunami coupled with Narendra Modi’s wave across the north India, besides western states of the country. Various factors are contributed to the disgraceful defeat of the Congress, but price rise and corruption unquestionably remained two prominent issues that led to worst-ever electoral debacle for the grand old party. Further, the Congress leaders apparently turned lethargic. With the anointment of Narendra Modi, the grand old party might have thought of polarization of secular votes, but it occurred on the contrary. He further said Muslims, who were already fed up with the ‘use and abuse’ policy of the Congress, got disgusted after the UPA’s failure to get the anti-riot bill passed in the last session of Parliament. In fact, Congress president Sonia Gandhi wrongly relied on the three to four Muslim leaders who kept on misinforming her about the Muslims’ perception towards the party. She should have directly reached out to real representatives of the community instead of relying on the yes men surrounded around her. On the other hand, regional parties too did not show commitment to secular ethos. Samajwadi Party’s dubious role in Muzaffarnagar disgruntled Muslims. As a result, Muslim votes were divided in Uttar Pradesh.
In daily Hindustan Express, Shahidul Islam wrote that finally communal forces have succeeded in enjoying full majority in Parliament and now the country should be prepared to brace for a new brand of politics where voices of dissent will be decimated in the name of nationalism. Next few months will tell if Narendra Modi, who got massive support from RSS cadres and corporate houses, trying to overshadow all his opponents – ideological and political, or tries to adopt a new role, the role of a leader of the whole nation irrespective of religion, region and caste. He said the biggest danger for the country would be betrayal of expectation of the people who tirelessly campaigned for Modi. It will definitely lead to frustration. He cautioned that Modi’s failure on ‘development front’ will force him to switch over to core Hindutva agenda. The religious nationalism propagated by the RSS will break India into pieces.
While in its typical style, Aziz Burney in his paper Azizul Hind wrote that history will not be fair to the expression of popular mandate given to the man – read Narendra Modi – who is widely held responsible for the killings of innocents during his rule in Gujarat. This is very disturbing phase of Indian democracy when a majority turned insensitive to the wounds of minority. The man who should be behind bar is not going to rule the nation – thanks to the ‘collective wisdom’ of society. Of course, there is still silent majority standing side by side to the Muslims. Scores of activists who have been fighting for the Muslim victimized during riots belong to majority community. Nonetheless, the anointment of Modi by the principal opposition party showed a vast section of majoritarian community is thriving on hate-Muslim politics. It is, however, not the final victory. Prophet Muhammad’s grandson, Imam Hussain, was apparently defeated in Karbala but the defeat of Prophet’s grandson was momentary. He said it is absurd to believe Modi will abide by the Constitution given his past records as well as the forces backing him. Modi has been an obedient disciple of RSS – the group existentially thrives on anti-Muslim politics – which wants to make India a Hindu Rashtra. The politico-cultural group believes Muslim community is the major stumbling block to the idea of Hind nation. The RSS, however, fails to understand the plurality embedded in the Indian soil. Not only conflict of interests among secular parties, but division of Muslim votes can be equally held responsible for the rise of communal forces. Divided Muslim leadership coupled with dubious approach of some secular parties proved boon for BJP. The secular parties, including the Congress, need introspection adding that now their prime task is to protect the Constitution from getting saffronised.
In another article appeared in Hamara Samaj daily, pointed that Muslim vote becomes ineffective because of split in their rank. It said election results clearly upset conventional vote equation as several political parties bite the dust despite having sizable vote bank. BSP is one among them. The Congress too lost its traditional Muslim votes because of its poor performance. Above all, the emergence of secular parties and ill-conceived policy of Muslim leadership played key role in the division of Muslim votes. Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party, which is an offshoot of RSS, has done massive damage to Muslim votes. It appeared the party was mainly formed to benefit the BJP. While Narendra Modi succeeded in polarizing Hindu votes, self-proclaimed leaders played mischief by misleading Muslims. It is now clear that the country is going to see Hindutva politics for the next two decades. And, Muslims will be on the constant line of fire.
Akhbar-e-mashriq, the only daily which maintained pro-Modi slant during elections, in its editorial said the Congress was swept away in the Modi tsunami in this election. Muslims need not to worry about Modi’s victory because of his role in Gujarat riots. Riots stain cannot be wiped out from his face till his death as he allegedly engineered for political purpose in the state. However, Modi fought elections on ‘development plank’. He himself said that if anybody touches Muslims, he won’t sit idle. We must trust his word.
Sare jahan se Achcha hindustan hamara…Nothing to worry about what else.Every thing will do for peace_Even the Ram Ram or Muslims Boko Haram. We are not in Petru Dollar based group of countries. After all Congress is gone after 267 yrs_This is our Success.
For nation Muslims ….This is just not a matter about one person called” MODI” and voting for him alone. Modi ranks include Amit shah a regular & a well known riot litter, a conspirator to divide nation on religion. The most disturbing fact is .”RSS through its affiliates, created most violent & fanatic gangs like VHP and Bajrang Dal. these VHP, BD, RS inflicts pain, humiliation, intimidation and torture on Muslims population. They openly inciting people to be illegal. Praveen Togadia’s recent heinous hate speech against Muslims houses, Giriraj Singh utterance has not provoked outrage in BJP as BJP largely share the same ideology and they don’t even condem his speech. These forces are inciting Hindu masses and creating conditions that provoke ordinary members of their community against minorities Muslims and Christians. RSS / BJP / Modi perfectly symbolizes a insensitive, dangerous and authoritarian ideology that stands opposed to genuine liberal, democratic and secular values that founded the modern state of India. Most BJP leaders are either from RSS, VHP, BD, and other Fanatic sangh organization, whose hatred for the minorities, especially Muslims, is deep and unchangeable. How can a civilized society vote these wild gangs. If we Muslims Vote for Modi , we embolden , encourage RSS, VHP, BD,SS , RS , who are core anti -nationals. Modi and BJP just stands for Hindu appeasement & Hindu Vote bank consolidation. How can anyone believe RSS trained “Cosmetic Modi..
