Guwahati : Ms. Ankita Bora, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) has topped the ACS Examination conducted by Assam Public Service Commission, the result of which has been declared recently. Daughter of Shri Golak Chandra Bora and Mrs Dipali Bora of Nalbari, Ms Ankita Bora had a brilliant academic career.
After securing first class MA in Psychology from Delhi University in 2014, she joined USTM as Assistant Professor (Psychology) in August 2014. In recognition of her outstanding achievement and to encourage students of the university and students of Fakhrudddin Ali Ahmed Centre for Coaching and Guidance (a unit of ERDF), USTM felicitated Ms Bora function in presence Speaker, Assam Legislative Assembly, Sri Ranjit Kumar Das. Eralier Ms. Zafreen Begum, Assistant Professor, Law, USTM also qualified for the Assam Judicial Service.
ERDF and USTM encourage students to face competitive examinations and provide special coaching to the students of the university for IAS, ACS and other competitive examinations like GATE and NET. As a policy to motivate the students for the competitive examinations the USTM refunds the entire university course fees to students who qualify in the competitive examinations. To prepare the students for ACS and IAS examinations the ERDF has set up Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Centre for Coaching and Guidance (FACC) .The FACC is headed by Shri H.N. Das IAS (Retd) former Chief Secretary of Assam and Shri Sailen Baishya, an expert in IAS and ACS coaching is taking care of operation of FACC besides class room coaching to graduates. In order to guide and prepare the students from their under Graduate level, FACC also imparts online coaching for three years to the students in their first year under graduate course so that they may sit for the competitive examination just after graduation. As part of its social responsibility, ERDF has introduced a scheme named “Hoque 20” under which 20 brilliant students belonging to economically disadvantaged section of the society are given coaching free of cost.
