Darbhanga: Situated 150 kilometres away from Bihar’s capital Patna, AMU Old Boys association Darbhanga Chapter organised a seminar here on the occasion of Sir Syed Day at Iqra academy hall.
Sir Syed vision and legacy will only be fulfilled when underpriviledged, deprived and below poverty line section of the Muslim community gets educated which is a far cry till date’ told Mr Mumtazuddin, the Pro Vice Chancellor of Lalit Narayan Mithila University while expressing his view as chief guest on the occasion.
Prof. M.Nihal , former Registrar, Nalanda International University, emphasised on the need of education of Muslims and told the audience that without education the lot of Muslims in the country is will not change. He also cited Sachhar Committe report which throws light on the plight of Muslims in India.
Dr Taskeen Azmi, founder and general secretary of Darbhanga chapter, while welcoming the guests told the gatherings that now is the time to carry forward the mission in real sense rather mere organising the events and going in slumber after the event each year.
Mr Faraz Fatmi, MLA, Keoti was among others present on this occasion.
The programme started with Tilawat e Quran
