On Friday, November 10, a four-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped by a sub-inspector, identified as Bhupendra Singh, who was on election duty in the Lalsot area of Rajasthan.
The accused reportedly lured the innocent child into his room, where the assault took place. The girl was discovered by her family members, who promptly rushed her to a nearby government hospital for urgent medical attention.
Reacting to the incident, a wave of anger swept through the community, leading to a large number of enraged villagers gheraoing the Rahuwas police station in the Dausa district. The furious crowd attacked the sub-inspector before turning him over to the police.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Bajrang Singh, said, “Based on the complaint by the family against the sub-inspector, a case has been registered in Rahuwas police station. A medical examination is being conducted on the minor girl, and necessary action will be taken.”
Bharatiya Janata Party MP Kirodi Lal Meena, expressing concern and empathy, announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the victim’s family. “I have come here to help the girl. For me, elections come afterward, and my first priority will be giving the family justice,” Meena asserted.
Director General of Police Umesh Mishra declared that an order of dismissal for the accused sub-inspector has been issued, emphasizing the gravity of the crime.
