Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya has once again stirred controversy with hisĀ statement, saying that “Hinduism is not a religion but just a deception.” Maurya referenced past remarks made by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who have previously stated that “there is no religion called Hinduism but instead, it is a way of living.”
“Hinduism is a deception…RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat has said twice that there is no religion called Hindu but instead, it is a way of living. Prime Minister Modi has also said that there is no Hindu religion…Sentiments don’t get hurt when these people make such statements but if Swami Prasad Maurya says the same, it causes unrest…” Maurya was quoted as saying by ANI in the controversial video.

It is noteworthy that this is not the first time Swami Prasad Maurya has courted controversy with his statements. His previous remarks and outspoken views have often sparked discussions.
Earlier, at the party’s state headquarters in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav, addressing representatives from Kannaujās Prabuddha Samaj and Maha Brahmin Samaj Panchayat, advised leaders to refrain from making comments on religion and caste. This counsel came in response to objections raised by some party workers regarding statements made by Swami Maurya, a prominent OBC leader in Uttar Pradesh. Though not explicitly naming Maurya, Akhilesh acknowledged the concerns and emphasized the need to curb such remarks. Several Brahmin leaders within the party had previously expressed discontent over Maurya’s controversial statements, where he alleged that certain verses of the Ramcharitmanas insulted a significant section of society based on caste and called for their prohibition.
Maurya, formerly a Cabinet Minister in the BJP Government, had resigned and joined the Samajwadi Party ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.

WHY QUOTE CHAIWALA AND BHAGWAT ?
WHY NOT QUOTE AMBEDKAR ? HE DID NOT GO FAR ENOUGH ! BUT AMDE A START ! dindooohindoo
ā¢ Ambedkar, in his historic speech in Nagpur on October 15, 1956, a day after he had embraced Buddhism, said, āEven though I was born in the Hindu religion, I will not die in the Hindu religion. This oath I made earlier; yesterday, I proved it true. I am happy; I am ecstatic! I have left hell ā this is how I feel. I do not want any blind followers
ā¢ Ambedka wrote in his book, Pakistan or The Partition of India, in Chapter XIII of Part V of the book, āIf Hindu Raj does become a fact, it will, no doubt, be the greatest calamity for this country. No matter what the Hindus say. Hinduism is a menace to liberty, equality and fraternity. On that account, it is incompatible with democracy. Hindu Raj must be prevented at any cost.ā
