The yatra, which started at a temple in Sitarambagh and travelled through various parts of Goshamahal, Raja Singh’s Assembly district, drew hundreds of participants. Every year, Raja Singh arranges the main Shoba Yatra’s Ram Navami procession from his home.
Indian nationalist leader Mahatma Gandhi was killed on January 30, 1948, by Ramachandra Vinayak Godse, a radical Hindu. Godse was a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a group that advocates Hindu supremacy and wants to identify India as a Hindu Rashtra–Hindu nation.
