Kumar was an accused in the 2007 Ajmer Dargah blast case. But he and four others including Pragya Singh Thakur were given a clean chit in 2017 by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

This was his first formal visit to the MANUU campus after the appointment of Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan as the varsity’s vice-chancellor in July 2021. He is said to have a major role in the appointment of the vice-chancellors of various universities.

Addressing the seminar, he appreciated Indian languages. “Love is the essence of Indianness and Indian languages play a crucial role in the Unity. We admire languages but unfortunately don’t understand their message of love and Unity,” he added.

“Your religion has two halves, one, the love for your country and the other your belief system,” he said.

Prof. Hasan announced that MANUU would establish a school of study for foreign languages from the next academic year.

The event was addressed by Prof B J Rao, Vice-Chancellor, University of Hyderabad and Prof. Shahid Akhter, Member National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions too.
