Union Home Minister Amit Shah has reportedly said in a meeting of BJP office-bearers and workers that Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray has betrayed the BJP and hence he should be taught a lesson.

Amit Shah was addressing party functionaries and MLAs in the city during his two-day visit to Mumbai.

Media reports say that Shah fiercely targeted Uddhav Thackeray. Shah said that Thackeray was building a palace in the air.

According to the report, Amit Shah asked party workers to expose Uddhav Thackeray in the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. India Today quoted sources as saying that Uddhav Thackeray’s alliance with the NCP and Congress is a back-stab. Amit Shah said that Thackeray has betrayed the ideology of BJP and Hindutva.

He said it was very difficult to sustain himself by indulging in the politics of betrayal.

The Home Minister said that Uddhav not only betrayed the BJP, but also betrayed the ideology and also insulted the mandate of the people of Maharashtra.

NDTV quoted sources as saying that Uddhav’s party has shrunk today because of his greed for power and not the BJP.
