Maulana Abdul Momin, the proud father of Nida Khanam who broke all previous records  in the Higher Secondary Examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in English language this year, is a worried man today as he has no idea how to bear the educational expenses of his brilliant daughter.  Maulana Abdul Momin  is an imam of a Masjid situated in old Delhi’s Shidipura who gets a meager monthly honorarium from the Delhi Waqf Board that cannot be enough for meeting even both ends. Despite that he sent his daughter to LSR College where she got admission in Political Science (Hons). However, it is  unbearable for him to cope up the hefty educational bill.

Nida Khanam was the student of New Delhi’s prestigious Modern Public School and she got 99 percent in English language and overall 96 percent in 12th class. She had studied in Modern Public School on a scholarship from 6th standard. The school grants scholarship to two brilliant students every year after conducting its merit test. Fortunately in 2009 Nida Khanam was one of the two students who were selected for the scholarship.

The credit of Nida’s admission in one of the most prestigious schools of  the capital goes to Firoz Bakth who teaches at Modern Public School. Mr Bakth informed the management of many Urdu medium schools in the walled city about the scholarship program and motivated brilliant students to appear in the scholarship test of the school.

He also informed about the management of Shafeeque Memorial School where Nida was enrolled. Finally Nida was declared the winner of the scholarship among 400 brilliant students from different schools of Delhi.

Interestingly Nida’s father reached half an hour late on the last day of registration because he was unable to hire an auto rickshaw and had to walk few kilometers on foot from her Old Delhi home.

Nida has proved that no dream is bigger to her, if given a chance she can prove this in future again . Now it is  the responsibility of the community to support  this brilliant needy girl financially  who aspires to become an IAS officer.

Within 24 hours after this report was published , we received  a message form Nida which says ‘Sir papa g keh rahe hain Allah ka shukr hai hamara kaam ho gaya hai..pls ask people not to forward it it further ..monthly that was needed has been assured..and thank  you so much sir..i heartily appreciate the efforts that your site has been making for students like us’.

On 5th August her father called us and said to remove his mobile no from  the site as his requirements has been fulfilled.

We request the audience of Muslim Mirror not to contact Maulana Abdul Momin sb in this regard.

Muslim Mirror is grateful to all those who responded promptly and offered financial support this brilliant girl.

Muslim Mirror also offers its best wishes to Nida  for her success in her future life so that she could also support other needy girls of the community and serve this country with full enthusiasm.
