New Delhi: With an aim to tap the halal trade potential in India, an International Halal Expo will be organized for the first time in the Indian city Hyderabad. It is hoped the event would boost the halal business in the country and open new vistas for international companies here.
The expo named as the India International Halal Expo 2020 which will be held from January 18- 20, 2020. The organizer expects that the event would attract more than 200 exhibitors and 15,000 attendees from all over India and abroad.
It is no secret that the Halal market has been growing with rapid pace throughout the world increasing the demand for Halal products. Speaking to Muslim Mirror, Muazzam Ahmed Naik, CEO of ATOBA Business Networks Private Limited, said the objective behind the event is connecting the world’s Halal markets at one place and providing them a platform. Muslims all over the world today are experiencing an increase in their awareness towards the Halal concept, he said and adding a global Muslim spend reached 3.7 billion US dollar by 2020 and it is no better time for a company to participate in India’s first and most important Halal Trade Show.
India’s huge Muslim population next to Indonesia makes it an ideal Halal marketplace of trillions of dollars, he emphasized .
The Halal industry now spans across food processing, food service, cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceuticals and logistics industries and expanding further into lifestyle offerings including Halal tourism and hospitality services.
Halal markets have grown from Halal food to new areas like Halal cosmetics, Halal logistics, Halal fashion, Halal healthcare and Halal tourism.
He holds that Hyderabad is the best place for Halal products in the Indian context which has more potential than other metro cities because of its formidable size of Muslim population and culture, he added.
Mohammed Saleh Badri, and Secretary General of International Halal Accreditation Forum (IHAF) said India, being home to millions and millions of Muslims, is definitely a country that we look forward to working with as we strive to strengthen IHAF.

On the forthcoming event, Naik said Hyderabad International Trade Expositions Centre (HITEX) will be the most advanced exhibition centre which consists of all types of modern facilities spreading over more than 70 acres land. It would provide modern infrastructure to foreign as well as domestic exhibitors. It has a team of expert professionals advanced techniques and services of high standards. It will conduct 3 days parallel conference with the industry global experts, advisors, Halal-Eco-System as Guest Speakers in this International Halal Conference.
The expo will cover following domains and give its attendees either individuals or business owners, to explore in Food & Beverage, Cosmetics, Fashion & Lifestyle, Halal Travel and Tourism, Pharmaceuticals, Alternative Finance, Industrial Parks, Engineering products, E-Commerce and Logistics.
So far, 17 editions of International Halal Trade Expositions were held in Malaysia, 7 in Turkey. Besides this, Dubai, Thailand and London also host the halal expo which is an outstanding platform to position any brand amongst the latest and most state-of-the-art Halal products and services that shape the global Halal industry.
