Deoband/ Banaras: India’s renowned Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband has welcomed PM-designate Narendra Modi’s decision to invite Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, along with heads of other SAARC nations. The seminary’s PRO, Ashraf Usmani, said that Modi’s friendly gesture would reduce tension in south Asia, and would help him successfully tackle the challenges on economic and social fronts. Quoting Darul Uloom reactor Mufti Abu Qasim Nomani, he said the stability in the region is in the interest of the both nations as soaring military expenditure is eating the vital sources of the region.
In contrast, however, Kashi priest termed the invitation to Pakistan Premier to the Modi’s swearing-in ceremony as treason. Kashi Sumeru Peethadheeshwar Shankaracharya Swami Narendranand Saraswati said the invitation to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on the swearing-in ceremony of PM-designate Narendra Modi is like ‘treason’. He said that India should have cordial relation with neighbouring nation, but invitation to Pak PM is akin to treason. There have been a number of times, when India took a step ahead for friendship with Pakistan, but things always turned worse, he alleged. India needs to be more cautious towards Pakistan and China regarding its borders, he added.
He may be right because unlike Modi , Nawaz Sharif is not in charge of the situation there .The final word in Pakistan is taken by the lobbies..military ,American etc whoever prevails and not the elected government .
The people of India and Pakistan want peace but as in India the right wingers are mostly the war mongers and adept at hate propaganda ,similarly in Pakistan vested interests don’t want peace
