Meerut: BJP leader Sakshi Maharaj was booked for allegedly hurting religious feelings after he sparked a controversy by indirectly blaming Muslims for the population growth in the country, days after Supreme Court outlawed seeking votes in the name of religion or caste.
As the outburst by the MP from Unnao in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh drew strong condemnation from opposition parties, the BJP distanced itself from the comments made at a sant sammelan on Friday while the Election Commission sought a report from Meerut district administration.
Meerut superintendent of police J Ravinder Goud said the FIR was registered at Sadar Bazar police station.
Congress said it will file a complaint against Sakshi Maharaj before the Election Commission.
“Those with four wives and 40 children are responsible for the population increase in the country. Hindus are not responsible for the increase in population,” he had said. “Strict laws are required in this country if we really want to curb population. Parties need to rise above politics and take decision for the sake of the country.”
Congress leader KC Mittal said Maharaj’s speech is offensive as it is based on caste and religion and goes against the recent Supreme Court judgement. “It is a violation of the Model Code of Conduct and Congress is officially filing a complaint against him with the Election Commission,” he said.
Condemning the comments, JD-U leader KC Tyagi termed them as the first major violation of the Supreme Court guidelines outlined on Monday on use of religion in politics. “Recently the Supreme Court and the Election Commission laid down some guidelines for model code of conduct, including not to use religion, caste and language. This is the first major violation by a major political party. Now action must be taken by the party as well and the EC against Sakshi Maharaj,” he said.
“They are making derogatory comments against one section of the society. This is violation of Model Code of Conduct to incite one section against another. And this is a criminal act,” he added.
Asked about the comments, BJP leader and Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “I haven’t seen his statement, but we believe in taking everyone along. The country runs on law, on Constitution, it does not run with a stick. Such statements or views are not of either BJP or government. We have nothing to do with such statements.”
Caught in the controversy at a time when elections in Uttar Pradesh and four other states are around the corner, an unfazed Maharaj made it clear that he was not speaking at a BJP event.
“I had said that the population of India is approx 132 crore. India’s landmass is not increasing but our population keeps on increasing. We need to control this menace. We should respect women and I had said that she is not a machine, that is why four wives, 40 kids and triple talaq are no longer tolerable. We need to take a decision whether we should have one, two, three or four kids. But we need to take a decision on this,” he said.
The EC sought a report from the Meerut administration in connection with Sakshi Mahraj’s statement, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Lucknow said. The Meerut district administration said ADM, Meerut and city magistrate are investigating the matter from all aspects.
“We have got information about few comments during the sant sammelan held at Augharnath Temple here through various
newspapers. We have sought reports on it from Election Commission. ADM city and city magistrate are investigating the matter from all aspects. We will take prompt action according to law if we find anything,” district magistrate B Chandrakala

I personally know few muslims who has more than 10 kids when I asked why u produced so many kids the reply was funny “kya kare sir ye to Allah ke den hai aur kuchh nahi to rickshaw khichenge ya fir garage me kaam kar lenge this is their thinking . I am asking see the education ratio of muslim v/s others it is only 55% against hindus 72% christians 88% and sikhs as 79% . Other point why world wide muslim community is poor its solely coz of their fundamenlistic aproach they dont go to schools (they go to madarsa where only religeon is taught). So dear friends think abt ur community and well being ur Saria will never help to grow up. Mmuslims are opposing 3 talak and uniform civil code why ?

The population growth is because of Muslims is 100% wrong because (The current population of India is 1,335,103,229 as of Wednesday, January 11, 2017, based on the Census data by the National Democratic Alliance.
India population is equivalent to 17.86% of the total world population.
India ranks number 2 in the list of countries (and dependencies) by population.)
The population of Muslims is 14.2% which is 189,584,658. If we remove this 14.2% population still india remains 2 in the list.
So it is 100% lie to say Muslims are responsible for population growth in India.
Hinduisim says mary as many as you want that is why lord sri Krishna had 16,104 wifes. That is why Hindus produce 400 kids.
Its proven fact that Hindus dont follow birth control. I personally know many Hindus who has more than 12 kids when i asked why you produce so many kids they tell me kya karay sir ya tu BAGWAN ki DEN hai.

The problem is our politicans and you are blaming the population. Do you in the developed countries the government provides free and quality education upto 12 for all their citizens. Increase in Indian population is due to hindus & muslims both. However, muslim’s contribution is at higher level. Even today, muslim woman has more than 3 children on an average. Muslim families have more children irrespective of financial capacity of parents.. due to this parents fail to give good education to their children.. this increases unemployment & then finally muslim community criticises government for not giving jobs & reservation… The present economic & social status of is really low & muslim family is solely responsible for this.
I partially agree with Sakshi’s comments.. However, now few muslim families in cities have understood the importance of family planning & they have adopted ‘hum do hamaare do’ policy. But there is huge scope for muslims to implement family planning.

Why muslim countries are not having more population if muslims are producing more chlidren.Actually hindus are having more birth rate. Muslims ate not having any prohibitions in their countries ,then why they are not producing more kids. All the countries having maximum population are not muslim counries, Why?
