VERY ENCOURAGING. KUDOS TO FAROOQ ABDULLAH.
As the saying goes, beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. For example, to quote the former Chief Minister of J&K, great son of a great father, said: “Independence is no option. On one side we have nuclear powers China and Pakistan and on the other side we have India.“We have no atom bombs, no army, and no jets. How are we going to survive as an independent nation? But, this does not mean that we are slaves of India.” With this kind of mindset of suspecting your neighbors to be your worst enemies talking about the nuclear bomb, army, jets, what is he presuming and why? Why not think positively? Think, foresee, negotiate before such dire needs arise. Honestly, if we continue reading the former CM is exposing himself badly that he does really mean “favoring” being part of India whom he is lecturing how to behave. It does not befit a worthy leader. What he is asking Pakistan about handling what was usurped originally is equally applicable to the Indian side. It has never been in peace. Otherwise, there was not going to be a Kashmir issue to discuss. The argument put forward didn’t feel kosher to me. It was similar to “sub ka saath”, “sub ka vikas”, just for PR propaganda. Sorry, if I am hurting any feeling.
