New Delhi: On the eve of 32nd anniversary November 1984 anti- Sikh Genocide, Lok Raj Sangathan and over 25 other organizations jointly held a mass rally here on Tuesday demanding the guilty of Sikhs pogrom must be punished.
To commemorate the mass killing of Sikh group after the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, hundreds of people including students, and youth marched from Mandi House to Jantar Mantar and reminded the authorities that perpetrators of this heinous crime are still roaming free.
The rally t got converted into a Public Meeting at the Jantar Mantar. Speakers from various organisations addressed the rally including S Raghavan, President of Lok Raj Sangathan, Dr Mohammad Samil Engineer from Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Advocate HS Phoolka, Inderjeet Singh of Sikh Forum, Parvez Ahmad of Popular Front of India, and others. All the speakers in one voice asserted that “An attack on One is Attack on All!”, and demanded that those guilty for the genocide of Sikhs in 1984 and all the numerous such incidents of communal violence must be punished. They said it is a betrayal without end as 32 years have been passed but the justice is still elusive to the victims.
The rally was jointly organised by Lok Raj Sangathan, Communist Ghadar Party of India, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Citizens for Democracy, United Sikh Mission, Insaf, CPI (ML) New Proletarian, Nishant Natya Manch, Hind Naujawan Ekta Sabha, Social Democratic Party of India, All India Forward Block, Association for Protection of Civil Rights, All India Progressive Women’s Association, Bhagat Singh Ambedkar Student Organisation, Welfare Party of India, AIFTU (New), Purogami Mahila Sangathan, Sikh Forum, United Muslims Front, Popular Front of India, All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushavarat, Student Islamic Organisation, Youth Awakening Movement, Mazdoor Ekta Committee, Jan Sangharsh Manch (Haryana), and others.
