Kuwait City: The Indian Social Forum (ISF) Karnataka Chapter, Kuwait celebrated India’s 70th Independence Day with great joy, enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on 15th August 2016. The event kicked off with the Unity Song at 7.30PM at Salmiya Red Flame Hall.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. StanyMartis, President Bellevision, Kuwait said that by upholding the unity brotherhood, all the communities together should march towards progress and prosperity. The non-violent movements of Indian independence struggle which was unique in its nature and which would be the bettersolution for today’s violent world he added.
Delivering the key note address, Mr. Imthiyaz Ahmed Arkula, Gen. Secretary, ISF, Karnataka Chapter said that the purpose of freedom struggle in India is not just to change the rulers; instead, it’s to gain the freedom to act, speak, or think as one wants which includes freedom to practice and preach any religion. He said that India is a land of numerous races, castes, creeds, religions and languages. Unity in diversity is India’s strength.
Condemning the continuous attacks on Dalits, Muslims, Christians and other minority communities in India, Arkula called upon the youths to be the sentinels of freedom as divisive forces are trying to damage the secular fabric of the nation.
Mr. AlauddinAinulHaque Bihar, Vice President, ISF Central Council presided over the program. In his presidential address, he threw light on the historical factors of freedom struggle and contributions of our forefathers.
Mr. SayyedBeary, President, Manipur Association also spoke on the occasion. KIFF Karnataka Chapter President Mr. Mustakeem also present on the dais.
Mr. Mohammed RafeeqManchi, President, ISF, Karnataka Chapter welcomed the gathering while Mr. ThameemUllal anchored the program and Mr. ThanzeelMoosaKallapu delivered the vote of thanks. Refreshments were served at the end. The event concluded with National Anthem.
