Allahabad : The Islamic practice of divorcing a woman by uttering the word “talaq” thrice is unconstitutional, the Allahabad high court said on Thursday, news agency ANI reported, reigniting a debate on one of India’s most contentious religious issues.
The high court said the triple talaq practice – sanctioned under Muslim personal law that governs marriage, property and divorce – violated the rights of Muslim women, ANI added.
“No Personal Law Board is above the Constitution,” the high court was quoted as saying by ANI.
Great decision by court
Muslim must know that law in india are governed by indian constitution not by sharia
Hard slap to islamic jehadi extremist ,congress ,sp bsp, who supported triple talaq
Its shame on them who supported for muslim appeasement politics
Now what u call allahabad highcourt -communal
Right decision for maintaing secular nature of india
This is really historical verdict given by high court. I hope supreme court will also uphold it.
Triple talaq is not only unconstitutional but also inhuman practice. This verdict will help to up bring the social status of muslim women.
To all Ulamas & Fellow Muslims, ALLAH SWT ordered us in Holy Quran
not to use triple Talaq simultaneously which is not valid.
There is waiting ^ reconciliation period in Holy Quran.
The High court did not against Sharia rules of Law
Thank you.
