Ahmedabad, 9 Dec 2014 It is a diplomatic master stroke by Gujarat government by inviting Ban Ki Moon in coming Vibrant Gujarat summit. PM Narendra Modi’s towering personality really paves the way for Gujarat CM Anandiben patel to bring such a huge world leader. Moon’s presence in the summit will certainly put Anandiben PAtel on the world map.
Gujarat government officially announced that United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki Moon will be attending the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2015.
In a statement issued to media, the government said: “The upcoming summit will see the participation of several distinguished through leaders from around the world, it is matter of great privilege that Mr. Ban Ki Moon, the eight and current Secretary General of the United Nations, has confirmed his acceptance of the invitation for the 7th edition of the summit. ”
“Before being elected the Secretary General of the UN succeeding Kofi Annan, BanKi Moon was a career diplomat at South Africa’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and as his first overseas mission, his country of assignment was India. Besides being, a diplomat, Ban Ki Moon has also served as the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea from 2004 to 2006.”It is learnt that Ban Ki Moon will also visit Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram during his visit to Gujarat.
Ten short films that will narrate the success stories of “home-bred entrepreneurs” from Gujarat, who started their respective businesses as MSME units will be showcased at the seventh edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ Summit to be held in Gandhinagar in the second week of January 2015.
MSMEs in Gujarat will be one of the key themes of this year’s Vibrant Gujarat summit. “We wanted to tell the world about the success stories of home-bred MSMEs from Gujarat. So we selected about 10 companies who started as small units and went on to make a mark in their respective areas of operations. Some of these are about 20-30 years old firms, while some are start-ups launched by young entrepreneurs from Gujarat,” said a senior official of the Gujarat government who did not wish to be named.
The films on these entrepreneurs from different parts of Gujarat will be about 90 seconds long and will be part of the MSME convention that will be held during the summit on January 12, 2015. The tales of these entrepreneurs will be showcased to visitors from across the globe at the summit when the NDA government is aggressively promoting the “Make in India” campaign.
