By Muslim Mirror News,

New Delhi, July 21: It’s two months since the Jaunpur youth Khalid Mujahid died mysteriously in police custody in Uttar Pradesh. This heartrending documentary captures the six years of painful saga — from his abduction by plaincloth policemen in December 2007 to his custodial killing in May 2013. It is first ever movie on Khalid Mujahid whose abduction and death have shaken two governments in Uttar Pradesh.

Mujahid died on 18th May 2013. While the Uttar Pradesh government announced a CBI probe into the death a day later but even two months have passed the probe has not started. Hours after the death, family of Mujahid filed an FIR naming top officials for his illegal abduction and custodial killing, but the state government has not even suspended the accused officers, leave alone arrest.

The 25-minute documentary has interviews of Mujahid’s uncle Maulana Zaheer Alam Falahi and his three lawyers including Adv. Mohammad Shoaib. Former Inspector General of Police, Uttar Pradesh SR Darapuri, in his exclusive interview, exposes the mindset of the police and security agencies. The documentary also has unseen footage and images of Mujahid’s body before autopsy that clearly show his death was not natural.

The documentary is a presentation of Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC), an advocacy group dedicated to safeguarding India’s pluralist and tolerant ethos. IAMC is the largest advocacy organization of Indian Muslims in the United States with 13 chapters across the nation.

The documentary is the first movie produced by Impact Media Group.
