Mumbai : In a sensational revelation,  Mehboob Mujawar a former officer of Maharashtra’s anti-terrorism squad has told a Solapur court  on Thursday that Sandeep Dange and Ramji Kalsangra, who were accused of planting the bombs in Malegaon, were not missing but had, in fact, been killed  in custody by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad officials in 2008 itself and their bodies were disposed of with 26/11 terror attack victims.

In the charge sheet filed by NIA  in the 2008 Malegaon blast case,   Ram Chandra Kalsangra and Sandeep Dange, have been mentioned as ‘RSS workers’ said a PTI report.

Police Inspector Mehboob Mujawar was deputed by the Director General of Police’s office to the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) team probing the Malegaon blasts, which left eight people dead and scores injured. He was part of the team till March 2009 and his job was to gather intelligence.

The allegation, which can prove to be embarrassing for the Maharashtra ATS, has been made in an affidavit filed by Mujawar.

Mehboob Mujawar said he had filed an application with the chief judicial magistrate’s court in Solapur on August 19, 2016, and furnished proof to support his claim. He first revealed this during an interview to Times Now. He said three senior officials of the Maharashtra police tried to suppress information about the killings. Mujawar was suspended from the force in April 2009 after serving for five months in the capacity of a police inspector. “I was suspended from the ATS as I was a witness to the murders,’’ he told The Times of India.
